5 Simple Steps To A Healthy Building

Developing and implementing a green cleaning program is a process that can be accomplished in phases. The initial steps are:

USE GREEN CLEANING PRODUCTS

Greencore uses only Green Seal Certified, EPA Registered and/or GreenSafe cleaning products. These chemicals lessen toxicity by removing common industrial chemicals such as acids, alcohol, amines, ammonia, chlorine bleach, glycol ethers, phosphates, dyes, and perfumes.

USE GREEN EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES

Greencore uses HEPA filtration vacuums certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) under the Green Label program and extractors and carpet cleaning systems under the Seal of Approval program. This equipment meets standards for soil removal and dust containment. The equipment uses high-efficiency filters to capture microscopic materials that might adversely impact building occupant health or damage sensitive equipment.

Greencore also incorporates microfiber clothes into the cleaning process. These cloths are specially manufactured to pick up and trap dust, dirt, grease, and particles inside the "star-shaped" grooves of the fiber. Using microfiber materials to clean a surface leads to reducing the number of bacteria by 99% vs. conventional cleaning material reduces this number by only 33%.

USE GREEN PAPER AND PLASTIC PRODUCTS

Greencore advocates the use of environmentally preferable paper and biodegradable plastic trash liners in your facility. Greencore will help you implement sustainable purchasing for disposable Janitorial paper products, trash bags and hand soaps. By replacing multifold hand towels with large rolls and replacing roll toilet paper dispensers with coreless dispensers that hold stub rolls, you can reduce waste, reduce frequency of replacement, and protect the environment in the process.

ADOPT GREEN CLEANING PROCEDURES

Greencore will implement your new High Performance Green Cleaning program to reduce exposure of building occupants and maintenance personnel to potential harzardous chemical and biological contaminants which adversely affect air quality, human health, building finishes, building systems and the environment. This will include an appropriate staffing plan, proper training of personnel and quality assessment inspections in accordance with APPA Guidelines (Association of Physical Plant Administrators)

DEVELOP AN EFFECTIVE RECYCLE PROGRAM

Working with local recycle contractors, Greencore will design a customized recycle program using the latest techniques for your facility. Your customized program will insure your company achieves maximum recycle results to help the building and the planet in the quest to protect our environment for future generations.
